Acular double page illustrations the encyclopedia is packed full of extra information on the anatomy behavior diet and habitat of prehistoric creaturesFind out about the very first dinosaurs and thei Another book that was a key component of my childhood and helped spawn my lifelong obssession with prehistory My own version very much has the look of a book that has been dragged to at least a dozen travel destinations and been pulled in and out of shelves for years That being said the book is not the most scientific of books While the colour illustrations are gorgeous and the book succeeds in creating both a general overview of the most important groups of dinosaurs and a deeper knowledge of some chosen species the descriptions of each species are uite short and do not give than the bare neccesity of information The final chapter though dealing with the science behind an excavation the history of the study of dinosaurs and the ways in which knowledge about the past can be obtained does provide a general insight into the science of dinosaur studies
