It has taken me a long time to get around to reading this series and watching the first episode of Shadow Hunters sort of prompted me to read the first book. I was interested to see if it had any resemblance to the series and despite the less than complimentary reviews it was not that bad. Yes a lot of this boo

I loved this book from the very first chapter. I was engrossed, and even after reading the last sentence, felt like I couldn't let the characters go. Great world building, easy to read but with wonderful new words I haven't heard before (I'm not English first language, and enjoyed the Kindle feature of looking up the unknown words). Plot twists kept me entertained. And I loved loved loved the last bonus chapter in Jace's POV what a gem.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Wow. I'd heard good things about this trilogy so I waited until all three were released. I'm glad I did. If I'd rushed out and read it as soon as it was released, I'd be jonesing for my next Mortal Instruments fix for ages.

First of The Mortal Instruments series, the story is fact paced action and has complex likeable characters.

It's also well written with none of the distractions I find with a lot of modern writers with dodgy grammar and invented words.

This is not the usual supernatural tale thankfully.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a great story line and would love to read the series, I refuse to be ripped off by exorbitant pricing as the next book in the series is than twice the price than any other book I have purchased through Kindle and those number in the hundreds, So until the publishers realize that they are pricing themselves out of the market i will forgo the pleasure of continuing in this series 😣it is a shame b

My first thought when I finished this book? WOW.

I went into this book expecting not to enjoy it as there is so much hype around this series, and I think everyone I know adores the books, but I am so happy to say that City of Bones exceeded my expectations, by a mile. I have officially fallen in love with
